 Inside the boathouse

Inside the boathouse

Woken by sunshine pouring through our hatch we were able to have our first breakfast of the trip on deck. Duly fortified it was time to get into the kayaks for some exploring. This was a big moment as it was the first time we had left Narwhal on here own at anchor. The fully sheltered Loch Aline that was once the choice of the vikings for building and sheltering their long boats so it seemed like a good spot to test it out. We had fun exploring in the kayaks and then pulled them up by a little stone boathouse and went on foot to see the 13th century castle the guards the entrance to the loch. It was quite a long trip and by the time we returned the tide was well and truly out. Not ideal for kayaking back to the boat, oops. An opportunity for some more exploring ashore.
