Scottish Islands Adventure - Day 8

To: Craobh Haven

From: Ardbeg - Islay

Distance: 44 nm

Weather: Sunshine and a special treat

Today was the last of our trip, and time to head towards Narwhal’s new home at Craobh Haven on the mainland south of Oban. The weather couldn’t have been more different. Glorious sunshine meant that all of the waterproofs could be dried out while we motored on the glassy clam water. I even managed a spot of sunbathing in my bikini. As we approached Craobh, one showered threatened to chase us down.

We stayed in front if it for a while but in inevitably it caught up with us and unleashed some fist fulls of rain. This time the rain had a treat in store. The rain fell hard, bouncing off the surface of the water and creating a layer of low spray. Looking away from the sun and into the spray there was a beautiful spray bow, lined up with one of the small rocky islands making it look as though the whole island was engulfed in a rainbow. Camera time! If you look carefully at the pictures you can see that there is a normal rainbow higher up above the spray bow. A lovely welcome to our new home.
